Happy New Year, and we hope you all had a warm and wonderful Christmas season! As we begin 2022, it is with great excitement and anticipation for the rollout of new residential recovery program for moms with small children.
The renovations to our residential cottages continue with new flooring, interior paint, lighting fixtures, and/or updated kitchens. Within these homes and throughout campus, our moms will have a loving community of recovery services and support to find freedom from addiction. Tamassee will provide grace-filled parenting training and coaching so that moms bond with their children, play together, learn to set healthy boundaries, and cultivate their character. They will become mothers they long to be, and children will chart a course to being exceptional citizens.
While the moms and their children are a part of in the 18 – 24 month program, the children will enroll in our Early Childhood Learning Center for infants to preschoolers to simulate brain development and kindergarten readiness.
Tamassee will support each mother’s education from GED completion to technical college pursuits. Moms will learn soft skills and save for their future through on-campus jobs, and they will attend SC Vocational Rehab to develop job skills for employment upon graduation. Moms will feel the pride of providing for their children while securing their future.
Tamassee will nurture a community where families encounter Jesus’ love and grace and discover the fullness of life God has for them.
We hope you will participate in our new recovery program and provide your support through in-kind giving, and financial support. We will also need volunteers to mentor our moms and to provide enrichment opportunities to those who have not had the opportunity to explore their self-interests in the past. Please contact the us at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about volunteer opportunities and ways that you can help enrich the lives of our families.
Meanwhile, during the winter school vacation, an average or 10 children joined us daily for our winter program, which is a subset of our Afterschool program. The children enjoyed making Christmas crafts, an educational field trip to the Greenville Children’s Museum, STEM projects with our additional 2 robots and the programming soft and hardware and much, much more. Their Christmas party was a great holiday event including games, gifts and sweet treats.
With school back in session, our after school program currently welcomes 26 community students daily. Our volunteers help tutor these students and ensure the children read for at least 15 minutes every afternoon once their homework is completed. We are making great strides to help these students keep learning and overcome any educational impacts created by the impacts of COVID. If you are interested in making a difference in the life of a child by volunteering as an afternoon tutor once or twice a week, please contact us at email@example.com.
Wishing everyone a new year filled with good health, happiness, and good fortune.
