Don’t Be Late!

Aug. 10, 2020

If you missed our After School Open House this week, don’t fret!  We are planning to hold another one before August 24th .  Don’t miss this last opportunity to check out our after school facility, meet the teachers, and get all of your questions answered before school begins.   You will receive a free gift pack with some school supplies and if you enroll during the event, your first week of the program is FREE!

Allow our teachers and tutors to help your student complete their homework assignments, class projects, and prepare them for the next day’s classes. During their afternoons with us, they will enjoy enrichment activities to help them explore their interests.   Along the way they will also grow to appreciate so much about this great country we all call “home” and will walk away with a solid base upon which to grow good citizenship skills.

Imagine picking your student up after work and simply enjoying the evening with them without the worry of completing homework assignments.    We are excited about the opportunity to help your students excel in academics and hope you are too!

On August 11 from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. we are hosting a gathering of those folks who would like to join our Tamassee family of volunteers.   You will be provided a tour of facilities, learn more about the opportunities we have for you to get involved in the life of a child and join us as we watch them soar into success!  You pick your involvement and the amount of time you can work with us.  If you can’t make the date, but are very interested in joining us please call us at 864.944.1390 ext. 102.  Tamassee is a magical place to be and we are confident you will get back more than you give!

We know you love BBQ and would not want to miss our 1st ever BBQ Cookoff from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday September 19.  We will welcome BBQ teams from around the area, celebrity judges, and Conservation Theory bluegrass music. Members of nearby Jeep and car cruise-ins will be here for you to meet and appreciate their love of vehicles.  Emergency equipment will be on display and weather permitting, the fire hose may actually open up and spray water on children who want to cool off.   You will be invited to express your inner self on the original community canvas that will be laid out, and you may even have the opportunity to participate in a scavenger hunt.   Several door prize drawings will occur with the grand prize of a $250 gift card.  While there will lots of free family fun, BBQ plates will be sold for $10/each with proceeds benefitting the Tamassee Children’s Fund.  We hope you will come to visit us on campus, learn more about or new programs and services, eat great BBQ and join us for a family fun day!

For as long as the covid pandemic is with us, we will be emphasizing established safety guidelines during all of the events above.
