Tamassee DAR School is a 501-c3 non-profit, non-denominational, Christ-Centered children and family service organization located in Oconee County, South Carolina.
No child is denied service based on inability to pay.
Tamassee DAR School officially opened in February, 1919.
“DAR” stands for Daughters of the American Revolution who established Tamassee DAR School in 1919.
We serve infants to age 21 through our various programs.
Our services include an Early Childhood Learning Center, Residential Care, Anson G. and Marian Beardslee Raymond Middle School Academy, Learning Resource Center and LifeBridge program.
We are nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation and licensed by the Department of Social Services of South Carolina.
We are known for our holistic approach in serving the multiple needs of children (Emotional, Physical, Spiritual and Mental Health).
As partners in education with our community, our children attend nearby public schools.In addition, we provide educational support through our Middle School Academy Program and Homework Center located on our campus for Residential Care students.
We are trained in and utilize the 3-5- 7 Model as a practiced and successful approach for permanency work with children and youth in our Residential Program.
We have been recognized and are recipients of the Angel Award given by the South Carolina Secretary of State for excellence in financial stewardship.
In 2013 a Master Plan was developed and projects such as a new central playground, new sidewalks, prayer garden and much more are being realized on our campus.
