4th Annual Tamassee DAR School Golf Tournament was a Success!

The good Lord smiled down on us once again with absolutely beautiful weather for the 4th Annual Tamassee DAR School Benefit Golf Tournament. As a warm, spring like breeze swept through the hills of the Cliffs Valley Golf Course in Travelers Rest, SC, 98 golfers competed in 18 holes of golf in a mountain paradise. As they traveled fromgreen to green, each view seemed even more stunning and beautiful. Azaleas and other native plants were blooming, the butterflies were flying, creeks were flowing and the mountains towered over it all. Everyone who volunteered, greeted and staffed theevent was treated to an amazing visit with Mother Nature.

Registration began at 8 a.m. after which breakfast snacks and coffee donated by retail establishments were available to the anxious golfers. A shotgun start to the Captain’s Choice tournament began at 9 a.m. and the golfers were off to begin play. As the last golfer rolled back into the clubhouse, scorecards were examined and winners were identified. After a delicious buffet lunch in the club’s banquet room, local radio show
personality, Tom Brosnan announced the tournament winners while prizes were distributed. The silent and live auctions included an autographed Dabo Sweeney Clemson football, bag and hat signed by Gary Player, golf certificates from various courses around the upstate, gift certificates and prize packages for family friendly sporting events such as the Swamp Rabbits and Greenville Drive games and many other prizes generously donated by businesses throughout the state.

Major Sponsorships were provided at the Diamond Level by HMR Veterans Services Inc, Merrill Lynch Bank of America Corporation, Silver Level by Dillard-Jones Builders, Ameriprize Financial, and Copper Level by Oakway United Wesleyan Church, Carolinas
Wealth Management, ITT Corporation and an Anonymous Donor. Thank you so muchfor making this tournament a success again this year.
