Tamassee DAR School’s elementary and high-school students are taken by bus to the local public elementary and high school located just a few miles from Tamassee DAR School campus.  Middle school students attend Tamassee Academy.

About Tamassee Academy
Established in 2001, the Tamassee Academy is an innovative and challenging academic program that provides remedial, basic and advanced learning opportunities for underachieving middle school students. The educational standards address each student’s individual learning level.

Academy Staff

All teachers are certified by the State of South Carolina and meet at least the minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s Degree.

Academy Admission
Tamassee DAR School accepts middle school aged students for admittance into the Academy providing students meet the criteria for admission established by the Board of Trustees.

Criteria
Admission is also open to middle school students in the surrounding area that wish to attend as day students.

While residential status is recommended for best educational results, day students who qualify may attend or may consider becoming a week day boarder. Transportation is the responsibility of the family/guardian.

Academic Costs

The Academy serves the educational needs of the student as a public school in a private setting. The cost for the Residential Program component is based on a sliding scale according to the guardian(s)/parent's income and family size. Scholarships are available and applicants are reviewed and awarded by an admissions committee. Day students will be considered for scholarship according to need.
